March Month in Review
March is over, and April is beginning. That’s always a good time of the year for me. Baseball is starting up and my birthday is right around the corner. The temperature is getting warmer, and the days are getting brighter. Spring is here, and hope springs eternal. I ain’t doing great, but I’ve got some plans that will change that. overall, I’ve got a pretty positive outlook. I know my steps will take me there…
Money
Pretty much all of my accounts are in the negative at the moment, but surprisingly, I’ve made some pretty big strides this month. Yes, I’m in debt up to my eyeballs, and I haven’t really been able to make a dent in that yet. But, I have taken some steps that will help me get out of my crisis and getting to a place where I really can start paying down my debt. I have a spreadsheet that helps me track and budget my finances. I’ve kept up with every penny I’ve spent for a month, so now I can make a realistic budget as well as start cutting back where I’ve been spending too much. I’ve written down some steps that I need to take to get my finances in the black. Once I get in the black, I’ve got my snowflake method written down and ready to go.
Health & Fitness
You’ll start seeing some more entries on health and fitness from now on as I’m now on a new diet and I’ve set a specific fitness goal. My goal is to run in the Cinco De Mayo 5K in Nashville hosted by the I Run For the Party guys. I did the very first I run for the party 5K they had, and they really put on a good time, so I’m pumped to get myself in good enough shape to do that. If I can do that, then I can convince myself that I might actually be able to do a mini-triathlon towards the end of the year. For the past month, though, I haven’t done very well. Similar to my money situation, I’m in the negative, but I’ve made strides in my plans to be able to move forward in the future.
Work & Career
I want to start some entries on this eventually, mainly because I have some of these goals in my new year’s resolutions. For me to be able to complete those resolutions, I really need to start taking my small steps now. I have an oppportunity to do some outside work for a friend that would make me some much-needed extra money. I have a couple of other opportunities that could possibly turn into some money-making in the future. My goal this month is to work hard on making these opportunities come through for me.
Overall
The biggest positive action that I have going for me right now is my constant approach so far this year of looking at my goals and my new year’s resolutions. New year’s rsolutions don’t do much for you when you only worry about them in January, so I’m happy that I’ve kept up the pressure on myself. I’ve made some great strides in March on the planning side of things. Now, April is the month where I have to put those plans to action.
And all those steps start tomorrow!
Actually, today is better, I’m going to start today…
