My Snowflake Rules - Snowflake Step #6
Okay, so now I’m fully on board with this Snowflaking thing, and it’s time I made me some hard and fast rules to live by so I can achieve my goals. What I’m going to do is write down every process/rule I can come up with for my snowflaking goals, and print them out and put them in my wallet. I now have a new subaccount in my ING savings account specifically designated for my snowflaking money (you can check out how I did that in the last step). Now that I have a place to put the money, it’s time to come up with the rules.
Snowflake Sources.
1. Budget surpluses go to the snowflake account.
2. “Found money” goes to the snowflake account. “Found money” is any money that I was not expecting to receive
3. Punishments money goes to the snowflake account.
4. Any change I collect from my cash purchases goes to the snowflake account.
Punishments (or Self-Tax):
1. any transaction that is overdrawn in my checking account is a dollar that must go to the snowflake account.
2. any lottery ticket or gambling “transaction” is a dollar that must go to the snowflake account.
3. Every fast food purchase is 50 cents that must go to the snowflake account.
4. any impulse item I buy that I didn’t budget for is 50 cents that must go to the snowflake account.
5. any money transaction that I can easily classify as STUPID is a dollar that must go to the snowflake account.
(I’m sure I’ll come up with more, this is just for starters. If the government can make a ton of money taxing me, maybe I can do the same!)
Snowflake Payments:
Once my snowflake savings account is up to either $50 or $100, then I wil make a payment to whatever my snowflaking goal is at the time.
