No Interest in Free Lunch! What?

I found a flier for a a series of budget, money-related lunch seminars hosted by a local church and the nearby YMCA. I thought this would be a really cool idea, and at least I would get a free lunch out of it. I looked at the three lunch topics they had planned: Resolving to Budget for Success and Solvency, Resolving Credit Issues, and Resolving to avoid Mortgage Woes. I was really interested in the first one, but unfortunately I found the flier the day of the lunch, after lunch of course! So anyway, I called them today to see if I could reserve a spot for the final two lunches. It turns out they had to cancel the lunches out of lack of interest. This really surprised me! I thought the topics would be interesting to a bunch of different people, plus the free lunch would be an attraction. I mean, free lunch!

I guess I pushed some of what I was feeling on to other people. Maybe other people aren’t as worried about their finances as I am. Maybe other people are in denial or something, and don’t want to deal with their issues. Looking at the state of the country right now, I have to believe that it is more denial than most people have got their money under control.

Either way, I was going to review the meetings for this website and let everyone know how they went, but obviously I can’t do that now. I think I will try to find something similar, though. I still think that would make for an interesting post for the blog. I’ll let you know when I find something interesting. Hopefully, I’ll get a free lunch out of it…

Keep Steppin!
