Where I’m at right now, physically
I’m in shape…Round is a shape.
I think I’m at least a little bit athletic, but it’s obvious I’m out of shape and definitely no where close to the kind of shape I should be in. Basically, At the moment, I need to lose some weight, get a better base fitness level, and get my blood pressure down. My overall goals are to get to and stay under 200lbs, to be able to run a 5K race as a base fitness level, improve my blood pressure.
Those are my generic goals as of right now, and shows where my body is at the moment. My blood pressure is being regulated with some drugs at the moment, and so far, I’ve shown some really good progress with those. I have to go to the doctor’s office every now and again, but my blood pressure is currently in the normal range. Of course, I would prefer to be in the normal range without the help of a prescription, so hopefully getting in shape will help me get off the medication.
What I mean by being able to run a 5K race as a base fitness level is that I want my fitness level where I could go out and run a 5K race without having to do any extra training or anything. I want to be able to decide on Friday that I want to do a 5K on Saturday, and I could be able to do it. Right now, I’m no where close to this level. If I had to, I could probably jog a good half-mile, but it might be pretty rough on me. I’ve got to improve that to 3 miles pretty quickly. I’ve done it before, and it shouldn’t be a problem as long as I stay motivated to exercise. Of course, if I can keep running and improving my fitness level, then it will be easier to lose some weight at the same time.
I really think I need to keep my weight under 200 lbs. Right now, I would need to lose 55 pounds, and that’s a pretty drastic amount of weight. I don’t think I’m huge or anything, definitely better off than some, but that doesn’t mean I don’t need to lose some serious weight. The hardest thing about this is that I need to focus on my diet as well as have the motivation to exercise during the day. In a future entry, I’ll describe the littel diet me and a buddy have come up with. Hopefully, this will work, and I’ll begin to lose some weight.
